On February 1, 2015, Michael DerGarabedian, Esq. was awarded the Honorable Client Distinction Award by Martindale-Hubbell, based upon an individual client review, for his “Excellence in quality of service, overall value, responsiveness and communication ability.”
On June 19, 2014, Michael DerGarabedian was presented with the Bill St. George Humanitarian Award by the Baldwin School District, “In appreciation of the duel effort of his and UFC World Champion Chris Weidman which resulted in saving the Baldwin Middle School Wrestling Program.”
On February 18, 2013, a committee of highly respected leaders within the American wrestling community was formed whose mission was to insure that wrestling remains as a core sport of the Olympic Games.
Michael DerGarabedian was asked to be a member of the 22 person committee and he proudly accepted the nomination. Wrestling legends who were also members include world and Olympian champions, Bruce Baumgartner, John Smith, Dan Gable and Rulon Gardner, and two-time Olympian, Kerry McCoy.
Wrestling has been part of the modern Olympic Games since their 1896 start. The sport was included in the ancient games in Olympia, Greece as early as 708 B.C.
The group, called the Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling (CPOW), was created by USA Wrestling to develop and execute a successful strategy which would result in wrestling being named as a core sport for the 2020 Olympic Games and beyond. The International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board recommended that wrestling not be included as a core sport for the 2020 Olympic Games.
On September 8, 2013, the CPOW committee successfully argued in Buenos Aires and the International Olympic Committee voted to retain wrestling for the 2020 and 2014 Olympics.
On January 28, 2013, We proudly announce Stacy Eves has joined our firm as a criminal defense trial attorney. Ms. Eves began her career in the Nassau County District Attorney’s office trying cases in the Hempstead District Court followed by 5 years of private practice concentrating in criminal defense and matrimonial law.
On January 14, 2013, We proudly announce Glen Rodriguez has joined the firm as our personal injury trial attorney. Mr. Rodriguez began his career in the Bronx District Attorney’s office, followed by 26 years as the lead trial attorney for Hanover Insurance Group.
On January 1, 2013, Sandy Rodriguez was promoted to Office Manager due in part, to her work ethic, loyalty and leadership qualities.
On November 23, 2012, we proudly announce Nicholas Marino has joined the firm as a criminal defense and family court trial attorney. Mr. Marino began his career in the Bronx District Attorney’s office followed by 27 years of private practice consisting of criminal defense, family court and civil issues.

On April 27, 2012, DerGarabedian, Nathan, Marino & Rodriguez were awarded the Appreciation Award from the Friends of Long Island Wrestling “In grateful appreciation of their continued support of amateur wrestling.”
On April 12, 2012, Michael DerGarabedian was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, located in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
On February 7, 2011, our dear friend Charles Brennan passed away. Charlie was counsel to our firm from 2006 until his passing. Charlie was widely known as a legal scholar and the class of our profession. He will be dearly missed.
On August 15, 2010, our mentor and inspiration Dennis Dillon for whom this firm was named passed away at the age of 76. This firm strives to preserve his legacy of integrity and professional commitment. He will be greatly missed.
On April 3, 2009, Michael DerGarabedian, Esq., was awarded the Fraternal Order of Court Officers Bench and Bar Award in recognition of the “Professionalism, Dedication and Integrity that you bring to the Courthouse, Community, and for your support of men and women who serve as New York State Court Officers.”
In 2006 DerGarabedian & Associates was honored with Nassau Police Conference Award in recognition for outstanding dedication to Law Enforcement.
